Okay, I almost hate to say it because I'm afraid I'll jinx it, but training went SO well tonight! I am almost to tears... I am so glad you gave me a plan! I did just like you suggested. My husband took Ginger and got her on her bed. He worked with her on staying while Buster and I walked around the downstairs, passing his favorite peeing spot (aka the kitchen trash). Every time he sniffed it, I popped the leash. He didn't ever raise a leg. After a few times, I took the half-hitch off and just used the pincher collar, but he still did well. He mostly just ignored the trash can, even when I put it right in front of him. He sat next to it, in front of it, and behind it. He sat!!! (Granted, he was still on leash, but I will take small victories!!) Then we worked on the bed. I put him on the same bed as Ginger since it's a big bed, and I sat on the sofa next to them. He tried to get over the arm of the sofa a few times, but he quickly settled down. I crossed and uncrossed my legs. He stayed. I scooted down, moved to the other sofa, etc. It took a few times of putting him back, but eventually I even got to go out of the room to get my camera without either of them breaking command! (My husband was on the farthest seat watching TV but he didn't have to say a word or point a finger!) I am attaching a picture of the dogs staying. I am so happy, I just can't tell you. Thank you SO SO SO much for all of your help yesterday. I am so glad that I finally decided to enroll us in this program. I know we've just begun, but I feel like I just moved a mountain!!!
With great appreciation!

"No big problems with Cody ~~still a few with his owners!! He is a wonderful dog & we are having a great time with him. No biting!
. Thanks for all both of you did to make it possible to keep Cody. I have a lot going on in my family & Laura kept him while I was out of town. They made out fine! I knew there was a good dog in there somewhere!" Thanks~~Blanche
"Ginger has become a delight! My husband is sooo impressed. She is like a different dog. If I hadn't seen it all for myself I would not believe one day could make such a difference. Our old lady of the house, Sugar, is enjoying her new found freedom to be able to come out from under the breakfast room table without being harassed. Ginger is still doing a little counter surfing, but that is my fault for letting her roam. I take her collar off at night when we go to bed and this morning when she started aggrevating Sugar and wouldn't stop I put it back on her - she immediately calmed down...its magic, LOL.
We can't thank you and Sherry enough for what you have done for us. We promise to continue her training. Our day with the both of you and Bella was delightful! Jo and I really enjoyed being with ya'll. I'm sure I will be writing again. I am so pleased...."

"Thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming to my home and showing me how to train Charlie! Three months after getting Charlie from the Animal Shelter, I was at my wits end and ready to give him away or take him back to the Animal Shelter. Although I hated to give up, and I've never given up on a dog, I just didn't know how he could ever be a well mannered.
After your first visit he was truly a changed dog! You were right, it was like you sprinkled magic dust on him. Your techniques are amazing! Your followup was wonderful and just what he needed. Jack Russells are extremely smart but I found also one of the most stubborn breeds. Thanks to you he is now a well behaved, loving pet that I adore.
I can't thank you both enough for all your help and support. If ever you have anyone doubt your training and what it's worth just have them call me :-) Thank you !!! " ~ Marcell Byrd
I just wanted to update you on Molly and Nugget. they are changed dogs! We have them in the house all the time and they behave beautifully. Sometimes they need reminding of where the bed is, but they are doing really well. Nugget hasn't tried to run off or dig out since our training session.
I wanted to thank you for helping us get them, particularly Nugget, to behave. The relationship we now have, with dogs in the house as companions is what I have always wanted with my dogs but didn't know how to achieve.

"Sherry and Missy... We just wanted to thank you for all of your help, teaching and great advice! Lady is doing so well. She stays on her bed when company comes over, and her social skills are greatly improved...Again, thank you so much. The two of you are awesome! Lady, Melissa and Matt
Hey Missy. I wanted to write and tell you that I enjoyed the seminar last night. It’s good to know that you guys have taken such a proactive role in helping people understand dog psychology. There are too many people that are raising insecure dogs in their homes and don’t realize how detrimental of a life they are creating for their dogs. Thanks for the information, it will be helpful. I would love to learn more from someone who has as much experience as you and Sherry.

Having worked in a veterinary clinic for over 15 years, I have seen several occasions where owners are faced with making a decision of whether or not they are able to keep their dog because they are unable to correct bad behaviors. The training technique that How To Talk Dog* applies is a unique way of helping owners see first hand how they have unknowingly rewarded and made incorrect behaviors acceptable. How To Talk Dog* is truly a new way of life for dogs and their owners that is not limited to age, size or the number of dogs in the household. The training goes above and beyond just obedience and allows owners to have a well behaved friend for life.

How To Talk Dog perfomed a home visit for my husband and me about 6 months ago, and we have been so relieved by the changes in our pet's behaviors. As a veterinarian, I have a large knowledge base for the medical aspect of pet care, but I am lacking in the behavioral aspect. Sherry and Matt clearly explained and demonstrated how to manage our dog's problems of doorbell aggression, "accidents" in the house, and pack leader issues. We have since used their techniques on our labrador puppy and I am delighted to brag that my labrador doesn't bite, lick, or jump! I highly recommend How To Talk Dog to my clients and anyone that wants a well behaved dog. ~ Dr. Kathy Bradshaw, Huntsville, AL
